For those about to RAWK...
March 9th has come and gone. So far NINJAS has done fairly good, considering it's a mini comic. The feedback I've received has been very positive, and the general consensus is that this book is a big step up from my previous effort, Test-Tube. Which is a whole lot better than being a step backwards. Which would suck, considering this is the second project in my "blossoming" comic book career. But it wasn't, so why am I even going on this tirade?
ANYWAY.
Given the positive reaction to this book, I can almost guarantee some more from the NINJAS in the future, possibly even after my next project, depending on how I'm feeling creatively at that time. And what would my next project be, you may ask? Fiddlesticks, which is about a world famous violinist who severly cripples his hand and falls in love all in a couple of weeks. I'm really looking forward to working on this book as I feel it will have a different energy than NINJAS and Test-Tube. I certainly plan to expand artistically, experiment more with my line work and really try to push what I can (and what I probably shouldn't) be able to do with my art. Expect Fiddlesticks to look a little different from my previous efforts. At least I hope it does.
I'll set a date for the release of Fiddlesticks when it's closer to being completed, or at least until I find a definitive half way point in the art work. Idealy, I'd like to have another book out in at least two months. Realistically, I know that's probably not going to happen given how my wife and I are busy preparing for Baby Ziolko. But since my wife has a new work schedule that leaves me with quite a bit of time to myself, I hope that I am able to make the most of it and will be able to devote a portion of it to Fiddlesticks (when I'm not cleaning the house or chasing my cats around).
In any case, expect to hear more from me in a couple of weeks. Until then, I hope the 5 of you who read this blog take care!
